About: About

Growing up our home was always filled with love, joy, and laughter. My mother and father taught my brothers and I importance of family very early. Every morning we prayed before school and at night we ate dinner as a family.
On major holidays my parents would invite my aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and neighbors over to celebrate. In preparation my mother, father, brothers and I would go to the basement and pull the appropriate plastic container that housed all the decorations for the holiday we were celebrating and decorate our home. This became our tradition. We still have many of the beautiful decor pieces today! My family and our holiday traditions are the reason I started this company.
The formal definition of Evergreen is something that does not change or that is timeless. This term influenced the name of this company because, ironically, Evergreen is the street I grew up on in Detroit, MI. and because it is my hope our home accents will be a part of your family traditions and holiday celebrations for many years to come.

This page is dedicated to my family.

Below are photos of my immediate family members and details about the products they each inspired.

My Parents

Growing up in Detroit, MI my parents hung a flag on our porch for every holiday. They inspired Evergreen Home Accents outdoor and garden flags. The first wooden door sign I made was inspired by my mother. As a child she would always recite Psalm 139:14 ”I am fearfully and wonderfully made”. My mother also inspired  Evergreen Home Accents’ candles because they are her favorite home decor.

My father inspired Evergreen Home Accents planters. While on road trips and family walks my father would identify every flower we saw by name. He not only had a green thumb for our home garden but owned a landscaping company and could make any home look beautiful. Among my fathers many hobbies, barbecuing is one of his favorites. His love for cooking led to the creation of the Evergreen Home Accents custom cutting boards.

My Brothers

Both of my baby brothers are amazing musicians. My brother David learned how to drum by himself and went on to win national competitions. My brother Von taught himself the piano and learned a Beethoven Symphony in one week. Today they own a music engineering company and produce for many new artist. Their love for music led to the creation of our skyline vinyl records.

My Grandparents

My maternal grandfather Poppy inspired Evergreen Home Accents wreaths. As a child he would hand sew my dresses and alter all of my clothes. He is the reason I picked up a sewing needle for the first time. Because of him I became increasingly interested in working with different fabrics and turning them into something special.

My maternal grandmother is an army veteran and has always been extremely organized. Growing up she always knew everyone's birthdays. As a child I thought she had super powers. As I got older I realized she always kept an updated address book. She is the inspiration behind Evergreen Home Accents address, passwords, and guest books.

My Grandparents

My fraternal grandparents inspired Evergreen Home Accents table runners and linens, pot holders and oven mitts. My grandmother changed her dining table settings and centerpieces for every holiday! It was so exciting to see what table setting she would put together next. Not only would she decorate the table she would cook everything by herself. We would all offer to help but my grandmother enjoyed cooking for us. My grandfather of course was always there to pray over each meal.
